Homelessness:  Not having a permanent or long-term place to live.

Homelessness is an issue many communities in our country are facing in these tough economic times.  Homelessness is often compounded by hunger.  The city of Wyoming is no exception.

The Kelloggsville School District has decided to make awareness of this issue a service learning theme this year.  Many teachers in the district will sensitively integrate this topic into their curriculum.  Students will become aware that there are people among them who may be homeless, be sensitive to their situations and needs, and bring awareness to the community of agencies who can help with their needs should they find themselves in this situation.

Some of these services were highlighted during their recent Community Pride Festival.  May local agencies had booths set up to let people in the community know about the services they provide.

Below are photos of some of the agencies and churches providing services in the area.
